Vice President of Operations - Telecommunications

Location: Dallas/Fort Worth, TX (Regional Coverage: DFW, Houston, East Texas)

Employment Type: Full-Time, Executive Leadership

Reports To: Senior Executive Leadership


Position Overview

The Vice President of Operations will serve as the senior leader responsible for overseeing all regional telecommunications operations across a multi-market territory. This role carries full accountability for field operations, network deployment, service delivery, and regional P&L performance.

This executive will play a critical role in driving operational excellence, scaling growth, improving service reliability, and ensuring consistent execution across multiple markets. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, metrics-driven operator with deep experience leading telecom or fiber-based operations in complex, field-driven environments.


Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Lead day-to-day operations across multiple markets, including field services, network operations, construction, installation, and maintenance
  • Drive execution of operational strategies to support growth, performance improvement, and customer satisfaction
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards, regulatory requirements, and operational best practices

Regional Strategy & Performance

  • Own full regional P&L performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost management
  • Analyze operational performance metrics to drive continuous improvement and efficiency gains
  • Partner with executive leadership to align regional operations with broader business objectives

Field Operations & Deployment

  • Oversee large-scale field operations, including deployment, fiber/network buildouts, and infrastructure projects
  • Ensure timely and cost-effective execution of network deployment and expansion initiatives
  • Drive accountability across teams to meet performance, quality, and timeline expectations

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of directors, managers, and field personnel across multiple regions
  • Build a culture focused on accountability, safety, performance, and continuous improvement
  • Align workforce planning with operational demand and regional growth initiatives

Customer Experience & Service Delivery

  • Ensure service delivery meets or exceeds performance expectations and service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve escalations and improve customer outcomes and satisfaction

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with internal stakeholders across safety, finance, HR, and commercial functions to support operational success
  • Provide executive-level reporting, insights, and recommendations on regional performance and strategic initiatives

Qualifications

Required

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in telecommunications, fiber, or infrastructure operations
  • Proven experience leading multi-market or regional operations with large field teams
  • Strong background in network deployment, construction, service delivery, or field operations
  • Demonstrated experience with P&L ownership, budgeting, and operational KPIs
  • Executive-level leadership skills with the ability to drive performance across distributed teams
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly across multiple markets

Preferred

  • Experience in fiber-to-the-home (FTTH), broadband, or large-scale network deployment environments
  • Background in high-growth or transformation-focused operational environments
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field; MBA preferred
